Soemadipradja & Taher Promotes Two New Partners

Soemadipradja & Taher (S&T) is pleased to announce the promotion to partner of Romi Emirat and Erie Hotman Tobing.
These promotions reflect not only the wealth of talent within the firm, but also show a greater leadership role on the part of the next generation of lawyers of the firm, two of whom have become very capable and skilled practitioners in the arbitration, litigation and dispute resolution practice areas.
Romi Emirat
Romi is a licensed Advocate and member of the Indonesian Advocates Association (PERADI). He is also a licensed Intellectual Property Consultant. Romi obtained his Sarjana Hukum (Bachelor of Laws) degree from the University of Indonesia, Jakarta in 2001, and his Master of Laws (LL.M) from the University of Queensland in 2017. Before joining S&T in 2008, Romi worked for a prominent law firm in Jakarta.
Romi’s main areas of practice include litigation, arbitration, alternative dispute resolution, business competition disputes, and company liquidation. Romi has been particularly adept at handling land issues and mediating land procurement disputes.
Erie Hotman Tobing
Erie obtained his Sarjana Hukum (Bachelor of Laws) degree from the University of Indonesia, in 2005 majoring in Litigation, followed by a Master of Laws (LL.M) degree from the University of Melbourne (2009), Australia, majoring in Commercial Law. He joined S&T in 2010 after working as an attorney for another local firm. He is a licensed Advocate and member of PERADI.
Erie’s main areas of practice include litigation, arbitration and alternative dispute settlement, general corporate, bankruptcy and suspension of debt payments, debt restructuring and insurance. He deals with a wide range of matters both on the corporate and litigation sides.
Both promotions are effective from 1 July 2018.
